Huang Qi, Xi Yang Shen, and Yuan Zhi tea for post-viral fatigue

Astragalus (黄芪, Huang Qi) supports Wei Qi. American ginseng (西洋参, Xi Yang Shen) lifts Qi and Yin without the heavier heat of Asian ginseng. Polygala (远志, Yuan Zhi) steadies a foggy mind. Dried tangerine peel (陈皮, Chen Pi) and agastache (藿香, Huo Xiang) keep the Spleen moving. A short steep when protective Qi feels spent after mild illness.

In brief

Place 9 g Huang Qi, 9 g Xi Yang Shen, 3 g Yuan Zhi, 3 g Chen Pi, and 3 g Huo Xiang in a cup. Pour boiling water and steep five to ten minutes. Sip warm during the day. In TCM this blend is used when Wei Qi feels thin after mild viral fatigue. Prefer daytime so the lift does not disturb night rest. Educational food therapy, not a cure for lingering exhaustion.

FAQs

Quick questions

How is this different from American ginseng Huo Xiang Chen Pi tea?

That three-herb cup uses Xi Yang Shen 10 g with Huo Xiang and Chen Pi for post-jab daytime Qi. This cup adds Huang Qi and Yuan Zhi at 9 g / 3 g and keeps Xi Yang Shen at 9 g for post-viral Wei Qi and foggy fatigue.

Can I drink this every day?

Occasional daytime cups while thin Qi sits after mild illness is the educational habit. Stop if you feel heaty, or if evening cups disturb sleep.

Does this treat COVID-19?

No. It is kitchen food therapy for mild post-viral fatigue comfort beside rest and medical advice. It does not replace testing, antivirals, or urgent care.
