Common questions

Treatments, explained

Straight answers before you choose a modality or book.

What is the difference between a TCM treatment and a programme?

A treatment is a method (for example acupuncture or tuina). A programme frames care around a goal such as fertility, women’s health, or pain. Physicians often combine treatments inside a programme plan.

Do I need to choose a treatment before I book?

No. Book a consult and describe your concern. Your physician will recommend modalities after a TCM pattern assessment. You can still browse treatments here if you want to understand the methods first.

Which TCM treatments does PULSE offer in Singapore?

Core TCM (acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, moxibustion), bodywork (tuina, cupping, gua sha, bone setting), external and adjunct care (external herbal therapy, auriculotherapy), plus paediatric TCM and selected clinic devices such as SIS and meridian light therapy. Jump to the groups on this page for the full list.

Are PULSE TCM physicians MOH-registered?

Yes. Care is delivered by MOH-registered TCM physicians across our Singapore clinic network, with private treatment rooms and a shared clinical approach.

Can treatments be combined in one care plan?

Often yes. A single visit or course may combine modalities when your pattern calls for it, for example acupuncture with herbs, or tuina with cupping. Your physician explains the mix and what to expect at each step.
