FAQs

Questions before you book

What to wear, how long visits take, combining TCM with psychology, and how to book physiotherapy.

What do I need to take note of before my appointment?

TCM sessions. Wear comfortable clothing that can be adjusted for treatment, and remove accessories. We can provide a change of gown when needed.

Psychotherapy sessions. Dress comfortably, prepare any questions you want to ask, and arrive ready to talk openly about what brought you in.

How long does each session take?

Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes. Most visits include a detailed consultation plus treatment or therapy time in the same slot.

What should I expect from a visit with a TCM physician and a psychologist?

For mental health concerns, we often recommend combining both clinicians when that fits your plan. Depending on availability, psychotherapy and TCM may sit on separate visits.

TCM. Your physician takes a detailed history, assesses symptoms, discusses options, and shapes a personalised plan.

Psychotherapy. You will be invited to share the problem, life events, or stressors that brought you in. Your psychologist also explores how those events affect health, emotions, relationships, and work.

How many sessions may be required?

TCM. Session count depends on the concern, severity, and how your body responds. Some people feel relief after one or two visits; longer-standing patterns often need more.

Psychotherapy. Length varies with the presenting issue and outside stressors. Many plans start with about 4 to 8 sessions, often weekly at first, then fortnightly as things settle.

Your clinicians will refine frequency after they meet you.

What if I am scared of needles and do not want acupuncture?

Your physician can use other approaches such as herbal medication or moxibustion when those fit your pattern. Discuss preferences in the consult so the plan matches both the medicine and your comfort.

Is everything I share confidential?

Personal information stays confidential under medical and legal standards. What you share in therapy is also bound by professional ethics and the law, so you can speak with trust.

How can I schedule a physiotherapy appointment?

Book physiotherapy through Heartland Rehab at heartlandrehab.consult.com.sg. Use that portal for session times and physio questions.
